  • Diospyros virginiana 'Barbara's Blush' (Hardiness Zone 8–10) is a highly prized variety of American persimmon, bred by Jerry Lehman. It is characterized by medium-sized to large fruits with a honey-like flavor and a unique reddish tinge to the flesh. It is a highly productive, self-pollinating, and very cold-hardy tree (down to -35 °C).

  •     Fruit: Very high quality, tasty; fruit ripens from mid-fall (October–November).
  •     Hardiness: Exceptional, reported down to -35 °C (zones 4–9).
  •     Cultivation: Prefers full sun. It is a tree with good disease resistance.
  •     Uses: A fruit tree with ornamental value; the fruit is excellent for fresh eating and processing. 
  •     This variety is often considered one of the best American persimmon cultivars due to its reliability and fruit quality.
