- Dospyros virginiana 'Lehman's Delight' (100-46) is
- a highly productive variety of American persimmon bred by Jerry Lehman. It is characterized by large, brick-red fruits with an excellent, sweet flavor and smooth flesh. It is a self-pollinating, fully hardy tree (down to -25 to -30 °C), suitable for cultivation in the Czech Republic.
- Key characteristics and cultivation:
- Fruit: Large, changing color from orange to brick red when ripe. They have a distinctive, sweet flavor and a delicate texture.
- Ripening and harvest: It is a late-season variety. The fruit is harvested in late fall, ideally after the first frost, when it loses its tartness and softens.
- Tree: Small to medium in size, very productive.
- Hardiness: Very high, suitable for conditions in the Czech Republic.
- Habitat: Prefers sunny locations, fertile and moist, well-drained soil.
