- Eucalyptus cinerea 'Silver Dollar' - forms a small to medium-sized tree or shrub, which in the wild can grow to a height of around 15 m and a width of 5 m. Its juvenile leaves are rounded and blue-silver in color. Adult leaves are practically non-existent. They have a distinctive aroma. Twigs with leaves are widely used in floristry. The bark of older trees is reddish-brown to grayish-brown in color. In our conditions, we grow eucalyptus mainly as a portable plant, otherwise high-quality winter protection is necessary. Eucalyptus is very sensitive to temperature changes and is moderately difficult to grow. However, the charm and elegance that eucalyptus exudes easily outweighs its demanding nature. Eucalyptus is a beautiful addition to gardens or as a decorative plant on the terrace, bringing a very attractive appearance.
- Cultivation: It prefers a sunny location and well-drained soil. Eucalyptus does not need to be watered often, and the substrate must not be too moist under any circumstances. In winter, watering should be kept to a minimum. Generally, the more light, the faster eucalyptus grows. This variety is the most frost-resistant, withstanding frosts down to -15 degrees, but as a potted plant only down to -5 degrees.
