- A reliable pollinator for female Pistacia vera varieties of the Kerman type, with flowering periods that overlap well.
- A male pistachio tree produces enough pollen for 8 to 12 female pistachio trees to bear fruit.
- It prefers loamy-sandy soils that are deep and well-drained. It is a good alternative for poor soils due to its hardiness and resilience.
- It requires little water. Dig a hole at least two or three times as wide and deep as the root ball.
- Remove the plant from the container and loosen the roots so they can spread out in all directions.
- Cut off any broken roots.
- Mix the soil with the potting mix and fill part of the hole with the mixture. Place the plant in the hole and cover with the remaining mixture.
- Pack the soil around the plant and water thoroughly.
