  • PISTACIA VERA 'JOLEY' - Pistachio 'Joley' - a female, lesser-known variety whose fruit consists of drupes enclosed in a fleshy pericarp that turns red and purple as it ripens.
  • Once the pericarp ripens, it splits open to reveal a hard shell concealing the edible kernel.
  • Harvesting takes place from early September through October, depending on climatic conditions.
  • The variety is highly resistant to fungal diseases.
  • It requires a sunny, warm, and drier location; it does not tolerate wet or acidic soils.
  • UCB1 rootstock—this is a newly used rootstock for pistachio cultivation.
  • This rootstock increases productivity and the seedlings’ disease resistance; it is tolerant of saline soils and cold climates.
  • Plants from our own production, up to 50-80 cm tall
