  • Pomegranate 'Haku Botan' - an exceptional variety originating in Japan, which attracts attention not only with its unusual appearance, but also with its tasty fruits with a delicate, sweet taste. The name 'Haku Botan' translates as "white peony" – and no wonder. This variety blooms with beautiful white, often semi-double to double flowers, which resemble peonies in shape. The flowers appear during the summer and give the shrub an exceptional ornamental character. The shrub grows to a height of approximately 1.5 to 3 meters, is densely branched, and is very decorative even outside the flowering season. It is suitable for both gardens and larger containers, where it can be grown as an attractive solitary plant. The plant is self-pollinating. The fruits ripen in autumn, usually in October to November. They have a light yellow to cream-colored skin and pale flesh with white to light pink seeds. Their taste is delicately sweet, with very low acidity, making them ideal for direct consumption, juices, salads, or light desserts. Thanks to their unusual color and taste, they are among the most interesting pomegranate varieties for home cultivation.
  • Cultivation: In our conditions, pomegranates are often grown as a portable plant or with thorough winter protection. Older plants should be more frost-resistant. Plant in a sunny location with well-drained, sufficiently nutritious soil. Does not tolerate calcium.
