It comes from Japan, a sprawling, rather low-growing tree,
resistant to a number of diseases including gum disease and citrus canker, said to be cold hardy down to -12°C.
Fruits are small (3-3.5 cm), weight from 30-40 g, flattened, reminiscent of 'Yuzu' mandarin or 'Kabosu' variety,
fruit dark orange, thin, easy to peel, with essential oils.
The flesh is orange, soft, aromatic, has 10 segments and few seeds.
It is harvested in late summer and can be stored for a long time similar to 'Kabosu'.
'Tanenashi sudachi' is probably just a clone.
