Mulberry 'Giant Fruit' - a popular deciduous shrub or small tree that grows to a height of around 4 m when mature, depending on growing conditions. The leaves are rich green, irregular in shape, and turn yellow in autumn. The flowers appear during May and June. These are followed by fruits, which are long and red-black in color. Their taste is pleasant, sweet, and juicy. They are full of vitamins such as vitamin C, K, and minerals. Suitable for direct consumption or further processing. The leaves are bright green and slightly serrated at the edges. Mulberry used to be a very common shrub or tree in Czech gardens, but today it is not so common. It is not difficult to grow and is highly resistant to frost, so it should definitely not be missing from your garden.
Cultivation: Mulberry trees need warmer areas, which is why they thrive in wine-growing regions. The fruits are similar in shape to blackberries, 2-4 cm in size, juicy, sweet to sweet-sour, and very tasty. They are eaten fresh or are suitable for further processing - compotes, jams, and are also suitable for drying. We plant them in a warm and sunny location. They are undemanding on the soil and can tolerate drier, sandy soil. The plant is frost-resistant.
